Hello everyone, Elam Landry here again.

In this blog post, I want to talk about my third component for building back links to your website. The component that we will talk about in this post is, providing quality content.

The newbies of SEO, may be wondering…

What Is Quality Content?

Quality content, is written information in your website that is relevant to the niche of your website. Furthermore, your writing sticks to your subject or topic.

For example, my website, ElamLandry.com, is a website about Search Engine Optimization. So most of the time, I have content in this website just about SEO. Furthermore, each blog post I have dedicated to a sub-topic of SEO. This blog post alone, I am giving you an example of what quality content is. Meaning if I talk about something other than providing quality content to get back links for your website, it is not quality content.

A good example of this was when my last couple blog posts, I remember talking about the New York Yankees winning their 27th World Series Championship. That paragraph had nothing to do with the talk about the compoenents on how to build back links. However, it wasn’t so bad since this is a blog and I like to show my readers some enthusiasm, this way they are not bored when reading my writing.

Now that we know what quality content is…

How Can Quality Content Help Getting Back Links?

Well to answer that question is very simple. Let’s say you, the reader of this blog post, you have a website on SEO. You are looking for articles to post on your website on how providing quality content can help building back links in SEO. Now obviously, you landed in this page. So you’ll read it and see if the information here is worthwhile posting on your blog. My blog post, will have a certain criteria to meet when your looking for a perfect article to put in your website. Moving forward, let’s say you pick this blog post to put in your blog as an article.

It will be obvious that my article had some quality content that was relevant to your website’s niche which why you had picked this post in the first place to put in your webstie for your readers. Now when you, the established SEO website owner, puts this article in your blog, you will obviously have to point back to this site telling people you got this content from ElamLandry.com.

In the most simplistic terms, providing quality content is you doing a job that has satisfied someone and they are referring your work by adding a back link to your website from theirs! When you see it this way, it becomes clearer.

Obviously, there is much more to learn on how to write this way you have quality content for your website. However, that is a different topic and we’ll put that to the side since all we’re concentrating on is how quality content can increase the chances for your website to receive some back links, hence more link juice!

I hope this post has made your understanding on how quality content helps in building back links to your site. Please contact me at any time without any hesitation if you need help with SEO using the “Contact Me” form and I will be glad to help. I usually respond in less 24 hours.

In my next blog post, I want to continue talking about the 8 things that can help you get back links to your website. In my next blog post, I will talk about how posting on forums can help you get back links to your website!
Talk to you soon,

Elam Landry.

Hello, Elam Landry here.

I know, I know, I know. It has been about two weeks since I’ve updated my blog. Please don’t blame me for that. Blame the World Series for that and my school. These past two weeks I have been very busy with some heavy studying for mid-terms with some heavy baseball supporting for the Yankees to win the World Series! Anyhow let’s get straight to the point since I don’t want to waste any time here.

In my last blog post, I spoke about Link Exchanges and how to go about it. The second part of my eight points I’ve made in my last two previous blog posts about how to get backlinks. So let’s get started…

Link Baiting: What Is It?

Link Baiting, is to have something in your blog posts or something that attracts someone else to get them to point a link from their wesbite to yours. In simple terms… Let’s say one of my blog readers has a web site on Search Engine Optimization like mine. And his blog, has articles about SEO. He has no articles on Link Baiting. He then finds my website and thinks, “oh my, this article can help my readers.” He would then talk a little about Link Baiting, and then point to my website with the Link Baiting blog post as additional information fo his blog readers to understand Link Baiting a little more. Sounds pretty hard to do huh?

Well it is. So, we can pose the next question…

Why Try To Link Bait If It Is Hard To Do?

Very simple. It is one of the best natural bank linking technique. When you can get someone else to point back to your website it adds value to your website, especially if the two websites are related. In the eyes of google, the importance of your website would be respected. Now here’s the thing though, bait links isn’t easy. Doesn’t happen very often. You have to work for it…

So,

How Can I Perform Link Baiting?

This is something very easy. There are many ways to promote your website through Link Baiting. You can write news articles and submit them to social bookmarking sites such as Digg, de.li.cious, mixx, squidoo, and so forth. These social bookmarking sites that I’ve just mentioned gets a lot of visitors. I mean we’re talking massive traffic. People who are interested in pretty everything go to these websites to see what are other things people have bookmarked for them to see.

So when you start bookmarking your stories, blog posts, and so on, an interested reader at digg or any social bookmarking sites that I’ve mentioned, may get attracted to visit your site to read something that someone else bookmarked on these so called, “social bookmarking sites.” It may interest that reader who found your site through digg (using that as a social bookmarking site example) and then may link your page on his/her website.

This is how simple link baiting is.

If you would like to learn more about Link Baiting, my friend Matt Cutts is more of an expert when it comes to SEO, espcially when it comes to How To Bait Links and The Different Way Of Doing It. You can visit his website and check out what he has to say about it in the additional resource section below (By the way, the links in the additional resources below is a good example of links being baited for the owners of the sites I am listing below.)

P.S. I promise I will get to writing frequent blog posts from now on since my exams are over and so is the World Series Congratulations to the 2009 World Series Champs, The New York Yankees for the 27th time!!!

P.P.S. In my next blog post I will talk the third strategy on how to build back links, Providing Quality Content.
